Hello Alan,

The client must be convinced that blogging really does not take that long as long as they know how to drive traffic to it or they have someone doing it for them. Blog post do not have to be that long and if they blog a minimum of 2x/week, it would take maybe an hour of their time. If they still think writing takes too long, they can do quick voice blogs posts and turn into a podcast, they can turn it into a vlog and shoot quick 2 minute videos to give tips and quick ideas. They can also invite guest bloggers who are experts in their industries to submit posts...as you can see there are many solutions.

Mirna,
Great article as usual. What we encounter with many SMB clients: they acknowledge the need for a biz blog but 1) don't want one because there's no one in-house willing or able to take the time to write it or 2) don't have the budget to pay an outsider to write it.

Your thoughts?

Mirna,
This post is a great reminder to those that haven't taken the leap into blogging yet. There are lots of case studies out there now that substantiate the effectiveness of communicating with customers this way. I found this great, very short video of Seth Godin talking with Tom Peters on the subject. I hope your readers find it useful: http://su.pr/2hBiYR
